Property Tax Relief and Reform

Homeowners across Wisconsin are facing sticker shock as rising assessments drive property taxes higher and higher. Families are being priced out of their own homes through no fault of their own. Wisconsin’s “400-Year Veto” has locked property tax increases in place for generations and made real reform nearly impossible. That needs to change.

Mike Moeller believes homeowners deserve real relief, not excuses. He supports amending the 400-Year Veto so communities can finally address runaway property taxes. Mike also believes that when the state has a surplus, that money should go back to taxpayers, not into new government programs. Using surplus funds for direct property tax credits is a commonsense way to give homeowners immediate relief.

Supporting Students and Parents

A high school diploma should mean a student is ready to work, ready to earn, and ready to succeed. Too many students graduate today without practical skills, while employers struggle to fill good-paying jobs in the trades, healthcare, and transportation—careers that often require little or no expensive college education and offer strong starting wages.

Mike Moeller believes education should prepare students for the real world. With parents as partners, schools should focus on skills that lead to opportunity and independence. As both an employer and a member of local school committees, Mike has worked directly with high schools to help students graduate job-ready, with the skills employers actually need.

Tourism

Wisconsin’s 7th District is a destination for visitors from around the country and around the world. From Mitchell International Airport to cruise ships at the Port of Milwaukee, from festivals at Henry Maier Festival Park to museums and performing arts centers, tourism is a powerful economic driver—supporting jobs, small businesses, and generating more than $4.3 billion in economic impact.

Mike Moeller understands that a strong tourism industry means a strong local economy. He will be a leader who proudly promotes the communities of the 7th District, highlights what makes them special, and works to grow tourism so it continues to create jobs and opportunities for local families.
